Meet the team

Steph leads the projects and depending on the size and scope of learning redesign, brings other people and their clever skills along for the journey.

About Steph Clarke

Hailing from the UK but calling Wurundjeri Land home since 2014, I’m a life-long learner, bookworm, “multi-potentialite”, and generally curious human.

I started my career as an auditor before moving into learning and development, and have spent the last 15 years developing curriculum and facilitating learning experiences for everything from how to do a stock count to helping leaders have hard conversations with their teams.

I was previously a Senior Manager at EY, leading L&D for one of the Oceania service lines, where I led a number of large L&D curriculum designs/redesigns. Since 2019 I’ve been working with clients, predominantly in professional services and financial services industries, to develop, design, and facilitate professional learning that’s designed for humans, and help their teams work better together.

I love learning, I really believe that an openness and ability to learn is the most fundamental skill someone can build. And I walk that talk; when I’m not developing other people’s learning, I’m learning something new myself. I used the ‘gift of time’ that 2020 offered to complete a graphic design qualification with Shillington. I’m currently learning about the discipline of futurism / Futures Thinking, and trying to learn French and Portuguese before some upcoming trips.

Since 2019 I’ve hosted Steph’s Business Bookshelf, a podcast where I summarise the best non-fiction books for people too busy to read them.

P.S. What’s with the name?

The name 28 Thursdays is inspired by my Grandad. He embodied the values of excellence, humour, and lifelong learning. I loved making stuff with him as a kid, and sometimes find myself doing things that remind me of him. He was born on 2nd of August (which became the ‘28’). As for the Thursday… it’s a fun word, and who knows, maybe it’ll encourage the people I work with to think about 28 Thursdays at least once a week ;)

Steph’s Business Bookshelf

Most people don’t have time to read the books they want to. Each week join Steph (@stephsbizbookshelf), a life-long bookworm, as she brings you the lessons from the best non-fiction books she’s read. Steph will share the ‘three big things’ the books taught her, favourite quotes and actions she’s implemented since reading the book.

If you have an ever-growing pile of half-read books on your bedside table, this podcast is for you. Steph’s Business Bookshelf; doing the reading so you don’t have to.
